Endangered Silver Alert issued for Kansas City man with dementia

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – An Endangered Silver Alert has been issued for a missing Kansas City man with dementia who was seen walking away from Blue Valley Park.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says that the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department requested that it issue an Endangered Silver Advisory for missing Victor S. Mejia, 85.
KCPD indicated that Mejia had last been seen around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, walking away from 5843 E. 26th Terr., near Blue Valley Park. He has been described as a man who stands at 5-foot-7, weighs 150 lbs., and has gray hair and brown eyes.
Law enforcement officials also noted that Mejia had last been seen wearing a brown jacket, navy blue pants and white shoes. He also has a gray mustache.
According to MSHP, Mejia has been diagnosed with dementia and other health conditions that make him unable to take care of himself.
Anyone with information about Mejia’s whereabouts has been asked to report it to KCPD at 816-234-5043 or 911.
