A prolific developer and an accomplished veteran broker will be celebrated with top honors at the upcoming 27th annual Long Island Real Estate dinner.

Jan Burman, chairman of B2K Development, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association for a Better Long Island (ABLI) and Frank Frizalone, executive managing director of Cushman & Wakefield, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Commercial and Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island (CIBS-LI) at the event scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11 at the Heritage Club at Bethpage.

Burman, along with his B2K partners, Steven Krieger, David Burman and Jon Weiss, continues to identify opportunities, spot market trends and invest in development projects that add considerable value to the communities they serve.

Jan Burman started his career as a CPA and got into real estate by purchasing foreclosed and corporate-surplus properties and transforming them into multi-tenanted industrial buildings. Eventually, Burman led his firm into developing multifamily housing and about two dozen assisted living facilities under The Bristal brand.

“Jan has been a visionary industry leader for decades,” said Kyle Strober, ABLI’s executive director. “Through his experience, insight, integrity, and vision, he has created innovative development across the region that has immeasurably improved our shared quality of life. This award reflects unequaled professional accomplishments.”

Active in both business and philanthropic communities, Burman currently serves on the board of directors of the United Nations Development Corporation, St. Francis Hospital and the Community Development Corporation of Long Island. He has been a recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and is a member of the Long Island Business News Hall of Fame.

“I am honored and humbled by this recognition,” Burman said. “However, I need to share it with my B2K partners and to pay tribute to the many tremendously hardworking employees of our various companies that work so hard every day.”

Frank Frizalone, SIOR, an executive managing director for Cushman & Wakefield of Long Island, has been a prolific commercial real estate broker for more than 30 years. He specializes in representing national and regional corporations in their industrial leasing, sales and build-to-suit requirements.  Frizalone’s expertise in the development of strategic planning initiatives focusing on diversified business areas such as supply chain strategy, location optimization, transportation costs and labor availability and sustainability has led to improved efficiency and profitability for his clients.

Frizalone, a former winner of LIBN’s Commercial Broker of the Year award, is also quite an entertainer. The broker is an accomplished singer who does an uncanny star turn as legendary crooner Frank Sinatra, appearing at clubs and events throughout the area.

“On behalf of the Commercial and Industrial Brokers Society, I am honored to congratulate Frank Frizalone on being recognized with the CIBS Lifetime Achievement Award,” said David Pennetta, Frizalone’s Cushman & Wakefield colleague and CIBS-LI co-president. “Frank has consistently demonstrated his dedication and excellence, driving results for his clients. We are proud to celebrate his remarkable achievements and contributions to the commercial real estate sector. Congratulations, Frank, on this well-deserved honor.”
