Maroon and Gold Approach the Beginning of the Marquette Intercollegiate

MINNEAPOLIS – The Gopher men’s golf team will compete in the Marquette Intercollegiate on Oct. 2 – Oct. 3. The event will take place at the Milwaukee Country Club in River Hills, Wis.
 
The Marquette Intercollegiate includes 54 holes across two days. Sunday will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. CST and will transition into two consecutive rounds of golf. The final round occurs on Monday at 8 a.m. CST.

Lineup:

Representing the Maroon and Gold are Ben Warian, Antoine Sale, Jacob Pedersen, Connor Glynn, and Jack Wetzel. Lincoln Johnson will be playing as an individual as well.

The Field:

The 14 other universities competing in the Marquette Invitational are as follows: Auburn, Cal Poly, Charlotte, Howard, Iowa State, Marquette, Miami (OH), Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Purdue, Rutgers, South Florida, UC Davis, and Wisconsin.

The Course:

The Milwaukee Country Club is located near the Milwaukee River and features a couple of holes that are deceptively hilly. The course is still tree-lined, but renovations were made to eliminate some of the greenery in order to expose beautiful views of the river that can be seen from some of the holes.

 

Looking Ahead:

Upon completing the Marquette Invitational, the Gophers will travel to Fairfax, Calif. For the Alister Mackenzie Invitational on Oct. 10 – Oct. 11.
