Gold, silver prices today: On Monday, May 16, both gold and silver were trading on the higher side of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). Check the latest city-wise prices here.

- Gold futures were retailing at Rs 49,873 per 10 grams.
- Silver futures stood at Rs 59,332 per kg on the MCX.
Both gold and silver were trading on the lower side of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Monday, May 16. Witnessing a marginal hike of Rs 55 or 0.11 per cent, gold futures maturing on June 3, 2022, were retailing at Rs 49,873 per 10 grams on the MCX.
Meanwhile, the rate of silver futures, maturing on July 5, 2022, stood at Rs 59,332 per kg, recording a jump of 0.30 per cent or Rs 177.
Notably, the prices of gold and silver stood at Rs 50,249 per 10 grams and Rs 59,031 per kg respectively when the market closed on May 13.
PRICES ON INTERNATIONAL MARKET
Gold edged up on Monday from a more than three-month trough hit in the previous session, as lower US Treasury yields kept demand for zero-yield bullion afloat above the key psychological support level of around $1,800 per ounce, according to Reuters.
Spot gold was up 0.1 per cent at $1,812.15 per ounce. US gold futures gained 0.1 per cent to $1,809.80.
Spot silver was down 0.1 per cent at $21.06 per ounce, platinum was unchanged at $938.46, and palladium rose 0.3 per cent to $1,949.88.
