Marvel Celebrates Emily VanCamp’s Power Broker With New MCU Figure

Sharon Carter, as portrayed by Emily VanCamp, has certainly had quite the arc in the MCU thus far. The grandniece of Captain America’s former flame, Peggy Carter, Sharon was tasked with keeping an eye on Steve Rogers during the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier before compromising her career in the CIA by giving assistance to Rogers, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes in Captain America: Civil War. Following that, Carter was neither seen nor heard from until Marvel Studios’ 2021 series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier where she appeared as the Power Broker.

In the show it was revealed that following the Blip, Sharon did not vanish like half of the rest of Earth’s population and instead fled underground, operating as the Power Broker in the city of Madripoor, a crime-infested region in Southeast Asia. She eventually contracted a scientist named Wilfred Nagel to recreate the super-soldier serum that gave Steve Rogers his enhanced abilities, only to be pardoned of her crimes by the U.S. Government at the end of the series before using her newfound freedom to steal classified intelligence for her own seemingly nefarious endeavors.

Hasbro has been hard at work developing figures based on the characters in the MCU, with many products celebrating Marvel Studios’ projects like Black Panther and promoting upcoming films like Thor: Love and Thunder. Their latest wave of figures, which they’ve been showing off in dribs and drabs, focuses on the heroes and villains of Marvel’s Disney+ shows. And now, someone new has joined the lineup.

The Power Broker Comes to Marvel Legends

During an Instagram Live, Hasbro revealed several new offerings in their popular Marvel Legends line of six-inch-scale figures. Among those reveals was Sharon Carter as she appeared in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Pre-order the new Sharon Carter Hasbro Legends figure here.

What Other Surprises Could Hasbro Have in Store?

With the debut of Sharon Carter, the third MCU/Disney+ wave of Marvel Legends figures has only two figures left to be shown. And if the current batch of rumors hold true, those two figures will be of Jennifer Walters aka, She-Hulk and Kamala Khan, otherwise known as teen hero Ms. Marvel. The other figures in the assortment include Kate Bishop, Marc Spector as Moon Knight, Steven Grant as Mr. Knight and Clint Barton.

But that’s not all! Hasbro will also be releasing figures for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in the Fall, as well as a special “Legacy Collection” assortment of Black Panther figures focusing on characters from the first film. The toy company has also promised that figures of Tobey Maguire’s Peter 2 and Andrew Garfield’s Peter 3 from the mega-hit, Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released in 2023.

This is also the first time that the MCU version of Sharon has been made in Marvel Legends. The line has shown that it’s more willing to delve into the MCU’s non-superhero and non-supervillain supporting cast in recent years, notably announcing a figure of Ned Leeds earlier in the month.
