Precious metals have shown mixed trends in the Indian markets today. While gold is trading on the lower side of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver rates have recorded a hike on Friday, Feb 9.
Gold futures, maturing on April 5, 2024, stood at Rs 62,431 per 10 grams on the MCX, after recording a marginal dip of Rs 12 or 0.02 per cent. The previous close was recorded at Rs 62,443.
Meanwhile, silver futures, maturing on March 5, 2024, witnessed a hike of Rs 113 or 0.16 per cent and were retailing at Rs 70,950 per kg on the MCX against the previous close of Rs 70,837.

The gold and silver prices in India depend on several factors, including the value of the rupee against the dollar. Global demand also plays a key role in determining the trends observed in the rate of precious metals.
GOLD, SILVER PRICES IN INTERNATIONAL MARKET
Gold prices edged lower on Thursday, hurt by a stronger dollar and elevated bond yields as hopes for an early interest rate cut from the U.S. Federal Reserve diminished, while palladium extended its decline on a dim long-term demand outlook, news agency Reuters reported.
According to the latest metal report, spot gold fell 0.13 per cent to $2,031.58 per ounce by 1842 GMT, while, U.S. gold futures fell 0.2 per cent at $2,047.9
Among other precious metals, spot silver rose 1.6 per cent to $22.55 per ounce.
