In a significant diplomatic development, it has been reported that China and Russia have brokered an agreement with the Ansar Allah movement in Yemen, ensuring safe passage for their ships through the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

This deal, according to a Bloomberg report, comes amid escalating maritime tensions in the region carrying geopolitical repercussions.

The report also referenced sources familiar with the discussions within the movement who claimed that Sanaa has assured China and Russia that their vessels will not face any hostile actions while navigating through these crucial maritime routes.

Moreover, it was reported that the negotiations leading to this agreement reportedly took place between diplomats from China and Russia in Oman, in conjunction with Mohammed Abdul-Salam, a prominent figure within the Ansar Allah movement.

While the specifics of the agreement remain undisclosed, it is believed that China and Russia may extend political support to the movement on international platforms, including the United Nations Security Council.

This support could potentially involve blocking resolutions targeting Ansar Allah, thereby, shielding them from further sanctions or punitive measures.

Yemen ties with Russia, China on the rise, signal US defeat: Official

The Yemeni Ansar Allah movement’s relations with Russia, China, and the BRICS countries are improving with the aim of ending the United States global hegemony, member of Ansar Allah’s Political Bureau, Ali al-Qahoum posted on X.

“There is continuous building and development in relations between Yemen, Russia, China, and the BRICS countries, exchanging experiences and expertise in various fields,” al-Qahoum said.

“This serves a common interest to let America, Britain, and the West sink in the quagmire of the Red Sea and the high seas, so that their unilateral polarity sinks, fades, and weakens,” he explained.

Al-Qahoum pointed out that “this is not just an analysis but a stark reality,” pointing to the Yemeni Armed Forces’ quintessential role in supporting the Palestinian people and their Resistance in the Gaza Strip, which has “firmly established [a new] equation in the Red Sea.”

The Yemeni official said that these actions have resulted in “military, security, political, and economic gains” for Yemen.

He said that under the leadership of Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, Sanaa has been able to achieve unprecedented goals “to the extent that major powers are now knocking on its doors, coordinating, and building on par relations with it.”

Al-Qahoum stressed that these developments will prepare “for historical the defeat of America, Britain, and the West, leading to the collapse of the colonial project and Western hegemony in the region and the world.”
