PortPro, a provider of transportation management software designed specifically for the drayage industry, has launched two new TMS products for drayage trucking companies with brokerage operations.

Port Pro for Carriers and Brokers is an all-in-one TMS for drayage transportation providers operating both asset-based and non-asset divisions. This hybrid offering gives companies real-time information and better control over both sides of their business.

“For businesses like ours who have assets and a brokerage, it’s a game-changer,” Philip Li, founder and CEO of DILE Solutions, said in the March 5 announcement. “PortPro’s interface is easy-to-use and customizable — saving my team hours each week, not to mention making our billing more efficient so we get paid faster.”

PortPro also has introduced PortPro for Drayage Brokers, a web-based system tailored to non-asset drayage brokerages that broker loads to different drayage trucking companies.

The technology vendor said it is focusing on providing the drayage industry tools to navigate a shifting regulatory environment. The company cited California’s Assembly Bill 5, which is intended to reclassify owner-operators as carrier employees and may require trucking companies to change how they hire drivers and run their businesses.

“As customers deal with business model changes resulting from new regulations, it’s critical for them to operate effectively from one central platform and better communicate and collaborate with drivers and carriers,” said Michael Mecca, PortPro’s founder and CEO.
