Courtland Sutton not happy about Broncos trading Jerry Jeudy to Browns
The Broncos traded Jerry Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns on Saturday, and one Denver receiver is not happy about it.
On Instagram, Broncos receiver Courtland Sutton posted a picture of himself and Jeudy with the caption, “They are playing with my emotions at this point.”
Later in the day, this time on X, Sutton posted a GIF of Will Smith from ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ standing alone in an empty room.
Denver traded Jeudy for a fifth-round and a sixth-round pick, a relatively light return that shows how much Jeudy’s value has decreased.
The Broncos’ move to cut Russell Wilson meant that the team needed to make some roster moves to free up cap space to afford Wilson’s record dead cap hit.
It seems Jeudy was the first victim.
The two moves prove the Broncos are entering another rebuilding phase.
The team hasn’t made the playoffs since the 2015 season, when it won the Super Bowl with Peyton Manning as quarterback.
The Broncos may not be done making moves to gain cap space, and Sutton may want to be the next move they make.
After Denver moved on from Wilson, Sutton posted on X for the first time since Christmas.
Obviously, we don’t know for sure what Sutton is referring to here, but Sutton also removed all references to the Broncos on his Twitter and wrote, “God-fearing man on a mission. what’s next?” in his bio.
Sutton had a good season in 2023, finishing with 59 catches, 772 yards, and 10 touchdowns, but he is set to make $17 million in 2024.
He certainly appears to be another trade candidate.
