The top 40 regional brokers under 40 in 2024

With our annual rankings, Financial Planning recognizes the industry’s top-producing young financial advisors among wirehouses and regional firms.

The Top 40 Regional Brokers Under 40 produced nearly $86.7 million in collective annual revenue, an average of $2.2 million each, in trailing 12-month production from Oct. 1, 2022, through Sept. 31, 2023. That represents an $8.2 million overall drop (8.6%) from the $94.9 million the top young regional brokers produced in our 2023 listing.

They collectively managed $13.2 billion in client assets, a slight increase from the $13 billion managed the previous year.

Financial advisors who earned a spot in the 2024 rankings come from seven different firms: William Blair, Ameriprise, Janney Montgomery Scott, RBC, Raymond James, Baird and Oppenheimer.

Last year, Ameriprise led the pack with nine representatives in the regional list. This year, Raymond James counted 11 brokers in the rankings, eclipsing Ameriprise and RBC, which each had eight.

A note on methodology: Nominees for the rankings were age 39 or younger as of Dec. 31, 2023, and were registered with a wealth management firm in the employee channel. FP uses production totals that are verified by each broker’s employer to determine the rankings. The reported trailing 12-month production and AUM are as of Sept. 31, 2023.
