Streetcar Station shares New Orleans treat with northwest Louisiana

BOSSIER CITY, La. (Arklatex Today) – A unique dessert shop in the East Bank District brings a special New Orleans treat to north Louisiana, Snoballs.

KSLA ArkLaTex Artistry’s Brittney Hazelton explored a uniquely decorated dessert shop located in the East Bank District in Bossier City. Streetcar Station serves amazing ice cream, Roman candy, and a very special treat, New Orleans snowballs, which are very different from the usual snowcone the ArkLaTex usually has.

Snoballs are different, you have to try them to understand, but everything about them is amazing.

Erica Gilliam originally started her business as a food truck, Streetcar Snoball. When Gilliam first moved to Shreveport from New Orleans, she discovered that one of her favorite treats was not in north Louisiana.

“The snowball is a part of the food culture down in New Orleans,” explains Gilliam. “So, when I moved to this area, I realized that snowcones were a lot more popular, which is a totally different dessert than a snowball. So, I knew that I had to bring the love of snowballs to north Louisiana.

The unique treat has amazing flavors and you can even get ice cream stuff snowballs. Unlike snowcone stands, Streetcar Station is open all year with only reduced hours in winter. So if you have a craving for the cold treat, it’s available in the colder months.

What makes Streetcar Station even better, is they also have a Nerf gun area called The Swamp. Streetcar Station hosts hour-long parties in The Swamp, those parties include New Orleans snowballs.

Book your party in the Swamp by visiting https://the-swamp-at-streetcar-station.square.site/s/appointments.
