Day two of the 2024 NFL Draft has arrived.
The first round saw some jaw-dropping action including six QB’s taken within the top-12 picks.
The most surprising move was made by the Falcons, who signed Kirk Cousins this offseason but then selected Michal Penix Jr. The pick was given a ‘D’ grade by the Post’s expert.
There’s plenty of good players available on day two, including Cooper DeJean, Kool-Aid McKinstry, Adonai Mitchell, Ladd McConkey and MarShawn Lloyd.

West Virginia C Zach Frazier was picked No. 51 by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a true freshman starter for WVU and should help to protect Russel Wilson next season. He was projected to go higher if not for injury.
Michigan CB Mikey Sainristil marks the third Wolverine drafted thus far. The Commanders took the undersized (5’9″) nickel CB to bolster their secondary.
DT’s been a popular position to draft in the second round. The Jaguars took LSU DT Maason Smith and the Bengals followed it by taking Michigan DT Kris Jenkins.
A replacement for Xavier McKinney? Big blue got their new safety by selecting Tyler Nubin at No. 47. He was tied for sixth in the FBS with five INTs and should provide much needed help to the Giants secondary.
A high-upside pick here, the Panthers took Texas RB Jonathan Brooks. He led the team with 1,139 rushing yards and 10 TDs, but missed the end of the season with a torn ACL.
This is good value for Green Bay. Texas A&M LB Edgerrin Cooper led the team with 84 tackles, 17 TFL, 8.0 sacks.
Powers-Johnson won the Rimington Trophy as the nation’s top center. While he may not be ready to be a Day One NFL starter, he could very well develop into an elite player at the position.
A local favorite. Arizona kept the wild run of CB’s going by taking Rutgers product Max Melton.
A string of CB’s is happening in the second round. The Texans strengthened their secondary with Georgia CB Kamari Lassiter. He led the team with 8 PBUs.
New Orleans moved up to take Kool-Aid McKinstry from Alabama. McKinstry was a three-year starter for the Crimson Tide having two INTs and 23 PD’s over the span.
The rich got richer. Howie Roseman pulled off another intriguing move in trading up in the second round. DeJean is an intriguing CB with 41 tackles, 2 TFL, 2 INTs, 5 PBUs last season. He missed the end of the year with a broken fibula.
We have another trade!
The Los Angeles Rams have traded with the Carolina Panthers for pick No. 39 to select DT Braden Fiske from Florida State.
Fiske has big shoes to fill with Aaron Donald having retired in the offseason. He tested as the second most athletic DT in the class.
